THE PROGRAM
A 10-Week Experience Built Around Action
10–12 Scholar Cohort:
Each year begins with a small cohort of first-generation college students and recent graduates ages 18–24.
10-Week Program:
Year 1 is a San Diego County pilot designed to fit within an academic quarter.
Permanent Theme:
Every cohort is built around Entrepreneurship & Leadership in Action and is open to students from every major.
Scholar-Led Initiative:
Each scholar enters with a business, organization, project, campaign, research idea or community solution already in motion.
Cohort Sessions:
Scholars meet biweekly for facilitated conversations, working sessions and peer accountability.
Scholar Pairs:
Each scholar is matched with a peer for regular check-ins and support throughout the program.
Focused Mentorship:
Scholars work with a matched mentor during a five-week engagement running from Weeks 4–8.
Residential Summit:
The program concludes with a three- to four-day summit, initiative showcase and scholarship recognition.
Long-Term Community:
Graduates become Kanbar Alumni and retain access to the Foundation’s private alumni community.
